Intro
Cohesity DataProtect is a backup and recovery solution designed for modern, scalable data management. It provides a single platform for protecting data across various environments, including on-premises, cloud, and SaaS applications.
Prerequisites

. You can follow the instructions provided to create a new Cubbit account and generate these keys.

To be able to proceed, it is necessary to download and install Cohesity DataProtect VE (Virtual Edition) appliance.
Further information on Cohesity's architecture, requirements and installation process is available in this official document and in this document.

Now, we need to add Cubbit as external target for our backup/recover operations.
Go to the "External Targets" section, in the interface, navigate to Protection > External Targets.
Add a new S3 target, click Add External Target. Select S3 Compatible as the target type.
Configure the custom S3 endpoint:

Once you click on Register, you’ll be presented with a summary of the configuration.
You can use this as an external target for Archival parts of protection jobs within your Cohesity environment. Once you have run a few protection jobs, you should start to see files within the test bucket on the Object Engine.
How to
Now that the External target is added you can create a Protection Policy and begin Backup operations.
A protection policy is a particular setting that specify how and when sources are protected and archived.
Click on "Policy Manager" to create and manage the policies.
Inside the Policy creation select Archive target created in the previous steps and add Cubbit to your specific Policy.
Congratulations! You will now be able to make backups to your S3 Cubbit gateway using the selected policy for Cohesity protection operations
